ICNA Relief & SDSRC Back 2 School
SDSRC is part of the planning board for World Refugee Day, organized alongside the San Diego Refugee Forum, of which SDSRC is a member organization. The event, tentatively planned for September or October, will bring together resource tables, youth groups, and activities for San Diego's large refugee population, with SDSRC expected to lead many of the youth-focused offerings.

On August 1, 2026, SDSRC partnered with ICNA Relief to distribute free school supplies to children in need at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Volunteers handed out backpacks stocked with pencil pouches, pencils, crayons, erasers, stickers, and small toys, helping ease the financial burden on families as the new school year approached. Th
On August 1, 2026, SDSRC partnered with ICNA Relief to distribute free school supplies to children in need at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Volunteers handed out backpacks stocked with pencil pouches, pencils, crayons, erasers, stickers, and small toys, helping ease the financial burden on families as the new school year approached. The event reached over 500 students, reflecting the continued commitment of both organizations.

Rancho Bernardo High School Food Drive
The SDSRC recently hosted a canned food drive at an SDSRC chapter high school. The team worked to promote the drive throughout the school, ultimately collecting over $250 worth of cans. All proceeds from the drive were donated to the Somali Bantu Association of America, a San Diego resource for refugees.
