
Arissa, a senior at James B. Conant High School, serves as the manager of the Conant Chapter of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). She believes everyone should have equal opportunities, no matter where they came from, and hopes to aid refugees during their transition into a new environment. She wants to study international relations and go to law school to eventually work as a lawyer and politician.

Irina Gut, a Senior at James B Conant High School, serves as the vice manager of the Conant Chapter of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). Irina is passionate about helping immigrant students integrate into their new home, which is what she’s hoping she can accomplish through NSRC. In college, Irina is hoping to study economics, then pursue law school, eventually working as an International Lawyer.

Nidhi Karekar, a senior at James B. Conant High School, serves as the Conant Chapter Volunteer Coordinator of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). Nidhi is passionate about supporting others to find their place in a community and hopes to help make experiences and opportunities accessible to immigrant students through NSRC. In college, Nidhi aspires to study neuroscience and prepare for medical school to eventually be a Doctor.

Sarayu Adepu, a Senior at James B Conant High School, serves as the Event Coordinator of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). Sarayu is passionate about helping immigrant students build connections, share experiences with other kids, and be comfortable in their new homes in America, which is what she is planning on doing through NSRC. In college, Sarayu is planning on studying professional flight, then eventually working as an Airline Pilot.

Aarav Singh, a Senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, serves as the Stevenson Chapter Manager of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). He joined NSRC after witnessing firsthand how challenging it can be for refugees attending Stevenson High School to start over in a new country and school environment. He firmly believes that NSRC helps bridge that gap and makes their transition significantly easier. In college, Aarav plans to pursue a premed track while majoring in Biotechnology to help develop better healthcare solutions.

Rohan Jain, a Senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, serves as the Stevenson Chapter Vice Manager of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). He joined NSRC because he feels compelled to listen to and help students who may not have had the same opportunities as he did during adolescence. In the future, he hopes to study computer engineering at a 4-year university and improve the lives of others through technology.

Manikrishna Shanmugam, a Senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, serves as the Stevenson Chapter Event Coordinator of the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition (CSRC). He enjoys organizing events that bring students together and create a welcoming community. After high school, he plans to study Aerospace Engineering and hopes to help design the next generation of aircraft and spacecraft.
